Arrogant pricks, and their mercedes...
When a neighbourhood hasn’t had a bin collection in 4+ weeks because of misogynist prick strikers who oppose women getting fair pay, it makes you a complete douchebag to park your car on the pavement, blocking the bins completely, when there is a slight chance that the council may collect them this week.
The fact that your car is an expensive silver Mercedes doesn’t make you special,...

Dear Google Reader devs...
While the ‘like’ feature you stole from facebook, and the ‘popular items’ meta-feed are great. They are offset by one huge glaring hole. I need a ‘don’t like’ button for when I get sick of seeing the same crap posts over and over in the popular feed.
Perhaps you could actually make recommendations, rather than just blindly showing me items I probably...

Tutorial: How to Convert MKV (x264) to 360 Ready... →
A very good tutorial - and followup forum posts - on the issue of converting MKV files to WMV-HD for playback on a xbox 360.
(If you have a MKV splitter DirectShow filter installed, you can even get away with skipping the AVISynth step and load the MKV directly into TMPGenc)

British Liberties...
So True:
From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7915479.stm
“British people have been “careless” with their civil liberties, but that is beginning to change, former shadow home affairs minister David Davis has said.”
Here’s hoping that when the tories get in power, they reverse some of this bullshit
Cygwin emacs URL opening fix
The net/browse-url.el provided default for cygwin hosts is broken, it assumes w32-shell-execute works on cygwin, it doesn’t.
The following function is a very simple workaround, cystart will tell windows to open the url, which is most likely the right-ish behaviour (should use default browser)
(defun browse-cygwin (url &optional new-window)
(interactive)
(start-process "browser"...
Emacs...
Emacs + org-mode + erc + bitlbee + mingus = perfection.
Oh, and tumble-mode of course :)
A simple test...
This is a test to see if things are working.
It is a little longer than the last test, who knows how long it should be.
